Habitat Authority Launches Crowdfunding Project to Raise $10,000 for Outdoor Education Project will provide free outdoor education and volunteer support

uente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority (Habitat Authority) is raising money to provide free outdoor education to foster Preserve stewardship, to benefit people’s health, and because it’s fun! This is important because healthy and happy people empowered with knowledge about the hills are who are going to protect the hills and trails for generations to come!
The money raised for this project will enable continued direct annual educational programming for approximately 3,000 children and adults. Also, this project supports volunteer services in part by training 30 or more new volunteers and managing approximately 70 active volunteers.

The Habitat Authority was chosen to be featured on the crowdfunding site, Fund Your Park, through a competitive application process with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority (Habitat Authority) is a government park agency which manages 3,870 acres of hillsides in Whittier, Hacienda Heights and La Habra Heights. The Habitat Authority is dedicated to the acquisition, restoration, and management of open space in the Puente Hills for preservation of the land in perpetuity, with the primary purpose to protect the biological diversity.
